Work Begins on Bill Nye Climate Lab Web Site
August 4, 2009- Oakland, California based Chabot Space and Science Center selects Proximity Lab to develop the Bill Nye Climate Lab web site. Working directly with Bill Nye, Chabot staff and other collaborators, Proximity Lab has begin work on design concepts for a highly interactive site that helps kids learn about climate change. The site is slated to launch in March 2010.
The site leverages legendary TV personality and science advocate Bill Nye as the leader of a futuristic climate research lab complete with a secret agent briefcase filled with interactive missions and activities. Visitors learn about climate change as they complete activities and earn points.
Proximity Lab has also been selected to develop a series of interactives for the physical exhibit bearing the same name. Proximity Lab will also develop a RFID-based visitor identification system that allows museum visitors to earn points and track their progress as they move through the exhibit. The museum and online experiences will be fully integrated, allowing participants to continue their work at home or in school after visiting Chabot.
